Pure Bliss
Why are motorcycle dealers closed on Sundays?

Because Sunday is for worship! The road is the temple, the machine is the prayer, the rider is the devotee...

I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking of God than sitting in the Gurdwara thinking of my motorcycle!

Your curvy-chromey body makes me go wild! Yes, I'm a sinner. But a devoted one.

Ingenious
It's been more than a week since I blogged and amusingly complaints are getting lesser. I suppose people are getting used to the fact that I'm just a casual blogger.

Regrettably, time does not permit me to do much these days. Making a comeback to full-time employment has just further saturated life. Paradoxically, there still is a tinge of contentment :) Maybe it's sign; an indication that I'm ready for marriage? Some of my mates call it the "death sentence".

I attended a meeting yesterday that made me walk down memory lane. The Executive Director of IACT and I presented a proposal to the committee of PRCAM (Public Relations Consultants' Association of Malaysia). Being a product of the PR industry, meeting the top-guns has always been a fulfilling experience. Who knows, someday I might return to the industry.

An hour ago, as I was heading to my office after a 6-hour lecturing stint, a bunch of students greeted me at the main entrance with an invitation to a movie screening next week.

I was tickled by their bizarre idea of using pantyliners as invitation card! Ingenious, I must say...

From Branding to Perplexity
I have something to recommend to our local PR and Corporate Communication practitioners. If you're on a quest to specialize in branding (corporate, service, product or personality), then you MUST meet Lawrence Chan! I attended his 'Effective Branding' workshop last week at Sheraton Subang and it was super-duperliciously fantastic!

Lawrence is an industry veteran who started his career in marketing communications back in 1982 - copywriter with Ogilvy & Mather. His career spans agencies including Lowe, Wings-BBDO, Grey Worldwide, DMB&B, Union 45 and FCB. He currently serves as a visiting lecturer at IACT. This gentleman is highly recognized for his strategic brand building insights for the clients that goes beyond 360 degree communications. Currently Lawrence is the head of the Brandz Group, an Asian-based brand consultancy with offices in Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Jakarta, Brunei, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur.

There's just too much to mention about the workshop but at the end, the 'Branding' buzzword was fully de-mystified. We engaged in experiential exercises and experienced the process of converging all communication elements to devise a potent and marketable brand strategy for our clients. Amazing workshop, really.

On a different note, SNSM had their 40th AGM over the weekend and Sir MadMax secured the uncontested president's seat. I foresee more involvement with SNSM since SirMM is back in action. SirMM once told our core Fellowship group, "SNSM needs workers, not policymakers". I'm supportive of that motion; his words are permanently etched in my mind. My ultimate point is, his leadership spells hope for all the 'deviant' ones like me. We love you SirMM, and pledge unconditional support...

Of late, my mind and heart has been presenting conflicting views on a particular decision I wish to make. The feeling is intriguing and infuriating because it puts me in a 'neither here nor there' situation. However, I'm certain it will be resolved in a couple more months, if not weeks. *fingers crossed*

Okay... my Monday morning has officially finally started! :) Cheers...

A Memorable Weekend
I've learnt that when a relationship begins too quickly, the initial chemistry and interest soon evaporates because there isn't any substance to hold the relationship together. I believe substance in a relationship begins with friendship...

... and that's how it started, some 6 years ago. She was and still is the most pleasant soul that I've met in my life.

What I least expected happened 3 years later; the wonderful friendship gradually bloomed into a full-fledged relationship. However, acclimatizing to the new life was an intricate process. From discovering idiosyncrasies to making necessary adjustments, the process seemed like a never-ending story at first. It led to numerous conflicts, which only complicated the relationship further.

In the midst of the worsening crisis, a well respected individual in our society somehow sensed the rising tension. He became a mediator and miraculously resolved the conflict! It was a new beginning for us, then...

... and things have been awesome till this very moment. In fact, it couldn't get any better, actually.

Considering that we will be entering our 4th year soon, R and I decided to officiate the relationship. In the Punjabi-Sikh culture, this ceremony is called the 'Thaka'. It's basically a meeting between both families to seek approval of the relationship.

In a nutshell, our relationship has been mutually blessed by both sides of the family. It's big relief after a long struggle.

Indeed, the harder the battle the sweeter the victory.

For some reason, I will not be publishing the photos. It's available upon request, but only for certain people.
